Gerard H. Gaskin, a Corona, N.Y. based freelance photographer, examines the beauty imagination of New York’s transsexual community.

This project was inspired by what he considered to be a demeaning depiction of transsexuals in the film Paris is Burning and the book The Otherside.

Gaskin’s work has appeared in Source and Emerge magazines and has produce work for Island, Sony, Mercury, Def Jam and Tip Toe Records.
